Dear gebe, respectfully, please reconsider maintenance on Aug 16

Dear NV GEBE Team,

I am writing regarding the scheduled electrical maintenance outage planned for Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, affecting Philipsburg (Front Street, Back Street, Boardwalk, Van Romondt Steeg, Dam Steeg, Little Switzerland, Coliseum Casino, Shivas, Vanity First, Mambo Restaurant, Cotton Cool, Vastros, Shoppers Avenue, and surrounding areas).

I would like to respectfully request that this outage be rescheduled to Sunday, August 30, 2026. August 16th falls on an important back-to-school shopping day for merchants in this area, and a power outage during this period would significantly impact business operations, sales transactions, and customer service for the many shops and restaurants that rely on electricity to serve customers on this critical day.

Please note that August 23rd is not a suitable alternative either, as a cruise ship is scheduled to be in port that day, which will bring increased foot traffic and business activity to the area.

Given the importance of these dates to the local business community, I kindly ask that NV GEBE consider postponing the maintenance work to August 30, 2026, to minimize disruption to merchants during these key trading periods.
