Natorii Illidge lands principal role in MAMMA MIA! on London’s West End

GREAT BAY--St. Maarten performer Natorii Illidge is returning to London’s West End for the third time, this time taking another major step in her career as she joins the cast of the global hit musical MAMMA MIA! in the principal role of Ali.

Illidge will also serve as fourth cover for the role of Tanya during the production’s 2026/2027 run at London’s Novello Theatre. The new company begins performances on October 12, 2026, with the production extending its booking period through October 2, 2027. The official MAMMA MIA! production announced Illidge among the principal cast members on September 1.

The appointment marks Illidge’s third appearance in a major West End production and represents a progression from ensemble work into a named principal role.

“So happy to finally share that I’ll be joining MAMMA MIA! in London’s West End as Ali, and 4th cover Tanya, for the next year!” Illidge announced.

“This means so much to me. Moving from ensemble into a principal role feels like such a beautiful step forward in my journey and a reminder that the hard work, growth and belief in myself are paying off,” she said.

Originally from St. Maarten, Illidge has built a professional career spanning dance, musical theatre, film, fitness and education. Her previous West End credits include Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, where she performed as an Ikette and ensemble member, and Moulin Rouge! The Musical, where she performed in the heels ensemble and covered the role of La Chocolat.

Her wider professional credits include the UK and Ireland arena tour of Alan Partridge Live: Stratagem, Thriller Live, the James Bond film No Time to Die, Princess Cruises and international television commercials, stage productions and video projects. Illidge also holds a Master of Arts in Musical Theatre Performance and has professional training in dance and fitness.

Illidge said the latest opportunity reflects years of work to develop beyond dance and strengthen herself as a singer, actor and all-round musical theatre performer.

“Over the years, I’ve continued to push myself not only as a dancer, but to grow in confidence as a singer, actor and all-round triple threat. To now see that growth opening new doors and allowing me to keep moving forward in my career makes me incredibly proud,” she said.

MAMMA MIA! is one of the longest-running productions in West End history. Built around the music of ABBA, the musical celebrated its 27th anniversary in London earlier this year and is currently the third longest-running West End musical. More than 70 million people worldwide have seen the production since its London debut.

The 2026/2027 London company will include Sara Poyzer as Donna, Vivien Carter as Tanya, Laura Medforth as Rosie, Richard Standing as Sam, Daniel Crowder as Harry, Rakesh Boury as Bill, Ellie Gilbert-Grey as Sophie, Kyle Cox as Sky, Illidge as Ali, Foxy Valentine as Lisa, Edward Turner as Eddie and Charlie Garton as Pepper.

For Illidge, however, the latest achievement remains closely connected to where her journey began.

“I’ve been SO blessed this year, and I’m genuinely grateful for every opportunity God continues to place in front of me,” she said.

“And as always, proud to keep representing my little island of St. Maarten and hopefully making you proud along the way.”

Illidge described the coming year in London as another chapter in a career that continues to develop through persistence, training and a willingness to expand her abilities beyond dance.

“Hard work. Growth. Faith. And we keep going UP,” she said.
